Search Operators - LMS Entities

Image
Each of the main functional areas in SAP SuccessFactors Learning provides a very powerful search feature, which allows an Administrator to use different operators to get the required results.  Search Operators Exact: It's used when you are looking for ONE value, exactly as you type. For instance, First Name: Faisal.  Any:  It's used when there could be different spellings for your search. For example, Last Name: Iqbal or Eqbal Starts With: It's used for searches which start with specific word(s), such as User ID: f may return FAISAL, FIQBAL. Permission Roles - Understanding System Security

Image
What does an Employee, a Manager, or an Administrator see when s/he logs on to SAP SuccessFactors is determined by set of permissions assigned to his/her role.  Permission Roles are defined through Manage Permission Roles tool. Here you can modify existing roles and also Create new .  In Permission Settings , you can select/deselect the permissions. Depending on the modules enabled within your instance, User and Administrator Permissions can be set up.  Here's an example of  Admin Center Permissions . After defining the permissions, you can grant the role to relevant Permission Group, from Grant this role to... You can select an already defined Permission Group for such an assignment.  Don't you think setting up Permission Roles is also very easy? Happy learning!

Permission Groups - Understanding System Security

Image
SAP SuccessFactors users who need to have similar permissions to access system can be dynamically grouped.  For instance , you can group people based in a particular location, or working in a specific department or division. The benefit of doing so is you don't need to manually assign permissions when there's a change in organizational structure. Anyone who meets the criteria, you have defined, is automatically granted the permission(s).  A Security Administrator who has access to Manage Permission Groups tool can create a new group or modify an existing one.  By choosing Create New , you go to Permission Group screen where you can define your criteria to include people, for instance, people from a particular country . At the bottom of the same screen, you can also exclude people from the list - who should not be selected, for instance, a city .  Here's an example; Your company has a subsidiary in Indonesia. It has offices in different cities and its Jak...

Exporting Succession Data Model from Admin Center

Image
Did you know you can (now) download Succession (and Country-Specific) Data Model(s) from the Admin Center? You don't necessarily need Provisioning to do so, where you would use Succession Management > Import/Export Data Model AND Import/Export Country/Region Specific XML for Succession Data Model .  The tool is called Export Data Model . You can enable this through RBP using Admininstrator Permissions > Admin Center Permissions .  Once enabled, you can use the tool to download the XML files. Easy to use tool, isn't it?

Admin Alerts 2.0 Tile

Image
Have you used Admin Alerts 2.0 functionality within SAP SuccessFactors? If not, you may like to. It's used for monitoring and managing HR Data Issues.  The Tile can be seen in the  NextGen Admin Center, You can also access it from the Home Page.  To be able to use it, you have to have necessary permissions.  You can use it for Workflows, Pending Hires, and HR Data Issues. Its legacy version is soon going to be depreciated.  What do you think about it? Isn't it a great tool, for Administrators to see all the pending items?
